What is Equip the Light?

We help people with the most important things in life:

1) Reconciliation to God— we share and promote the Good News about Jesus and the free gift of eternal life to those who receive Him, and

2) Discipleship — we equip believers to be disciples of Jesus, so that they truly know Him and his Word and can step into the calling and destiny that God has planned for them.

3) Unity of the Body of Christ — we teach believers to be the body of Christ, unified in love and Kingdom purpose, by providing practical guidance from Scripture.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-16; John 17:23)

Equip the Light is focused on making, equipping and encouraging disciples of Jesus, so that the body of Christ will be built up until we all attain to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God.

How we do this:

  • We write and publish books (fiction and nonfiction).

  • We write and publish in-depth Bible studies, using the inductive Bible study method.

  • We make free online videos to accompany the Bible studies. Our videos teach adults and kids how to read and interpret the Bible for themselves, so that they will grow spiritually—both in their relationship with God and in the knowledge of His Word.

  • We produce a podcast discussing various topics (history; persecuted church; apologetics; prayer; other Bible topics) edifying followers of Jesus.

  • We speak at events.

Some of the verses we love . . .

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

- Isaiah 60:1-3 (NASB)

“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. . . . There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.”

- John 1:4-5, 9 (NASB)

“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

— 1 John 1:5-7 (NASB)

“The glory which You have given Me I also have given to them, so that they may be one, just as We are one;I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and You loved them, just as You loved Me.”

— John 17:23

These too . . .

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

— Ephesians 4:11-16 (NIV)

“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

— Hebrews 13:20-21 (NIV)

For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.”

— 1 John 5:4 (NASB)

[Jesus said,]“Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

— John 5:24 (NASB)
